Back to the Beginning...

Well, I haven't blogged in forever! So I have a lot to talk about and post!! I will copy my best friend Ashley and schedule one blog to post every couple of days so all 3 of my blog followers won't have too much to read at a time;)

So on to the beginning of summer! Aspen came home for a couple of weeks and we were able to go down to Austin and hang out with Kaley, Karl, Gabe and Hallie! It ended up being a really busy time for the Ihfes so hopefully we weren't in the way too much!!!

We swam, the girls played Barbies and pet shop, we rode bikes, the girls played Barbies and pet shop, played at the turtle pond on the UT campus, the girls played Barbies and Pet shop, we went to Pioneer Farms, the girls played Barbies and pet shop....did I mention the girls played Barbies and pet shop?? Haha Aspen and Hallie probably wouldn't have eaten if we didn't make them when we were at home. They loved having another girl to play with!

Oh yea, one night the kids and I went to P Terry's, an Austin hamburger restaurant. Aspen and I fell in love with it! I even went on Facebook and asked them to come to the Fort Worth area! (I'm sure they totally took my request straight to the president) Aspen doesn't like hamburgers but they had a chicken burger that she loved!

My favorite part of the trip was probably the day we went to Town Lake and Barton Springs. The kids rode bikes and the adults ran for about 5 miles, then we got in the icy water of Barton Springs. During the bike ride, Hallie's bike kept messing up but she was such a trooper and never complained! We weren't sure if the kids would like Barton Springs, because it is so cold and it has rocks on the bottom. We were wrong! The kids could have stayed all day! Unfortunately, I didn't carry my camera or phone so I don't have any pictures but they had a blast on the diving board and exploring in the water.

We had a great time! We are going to miss having Kaley and Karl in Austin :( It is one of my favorite places to go mostly because it is so fun to do things with my sister down there. We will just have to continue to do family trips down there, and just rent a place to stay!! Below are some pics from that weekend!

They were so cute in the mornings playing with their little bear bears and bunny! I loved listening to them talk to each other!

We spent forever trying to catch minnows and looking at all the turtles! It was hot, but great!

Hallie got one!

So did Gabe!!!

  1. Love the pictures. And you made me want to go to P. Terry's for a hamburger. Is it better than Twisted Root and Smashburger?

    1. P Terry's uses all local produce and meat and I think all organic, but the price is like In and Out. That is probably the closest comparison I can think of.... I nicer In and Out Burger. It was yummy and cheap!!! Win Win!
